Shri B.K. Chaturvedi (IAS, Retd.) , former Vice Chairman DPS Society and its esteemed member for many years, has taken over as the Chairman of The DPS Society w.e.f, August 1, 2023. Shri B.K. Chaturvedi is a distinguished Indian civil servant who rose to the highest office in the civil services as the Cabinet Secretary, making significant contributions to national policy formulation and implementation. In recognition of his exceptional service, he was honoured with the Padma Bhushan on 7 April 2010 by the President of India. He was also awarded an Honorary Doctorate (D.Sc.) by the Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad, on 5 April 2012 for his notable work in the field of Public Administration.
At present, Shri Chaturvedi was Member of the Planning Commission of India, where he heads the Energy and Transport divisions. In this capacity, he plays a crucial role in addressing key policy matters related to power, petroleum, railways, roads, road transport, shipping ports, inland water transport, and civil aviation, ensuring greater efficiency and responsiveness to the current and future needs of the country.
Previously, he served as a Member of the 13th Finance Commission (November 2007). During his tenure as Cabinet Secretary, he was also part of the Atomic Energy Commission and the Space Commission of India. Shri Chaturvedi has authored numerous papers on public administration and governance. His extensive international exposure includes representing India in global forums, including the Boards of UNICEF and UNDP.

Mr V.K. Shunglu (IAS, Retd.)

Eminent bureaucrat Shri V.K. Shunglu, who served as the Chairman of The DPS Society for nearly a decade, continues his journey of leadership as the new Vice Chairman of The DPS Society, effective from August 1, 2023.
A distinguished former IAS officer, Mr. Shunglu rose to the prestigious position of Comptroller and Auditor General of India in 2002. He was conferred the Padma Bhushan for his exceptional administrative expertise and his valuable contributions to various government bodies and committees.
An alumnus of St. Stephen’s College, University of Delhi, Mr. Shunglu’s illustrious career stands as a testament to his professionalism, integrity, and unwavering dedication to public service. Known for his administrative acumen, he has held pivotal roles in major ministries and represented India in international organisations such as the IMF and the World Bank. He has also served as Chairman of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation and was a Member of the Prime Minister’s Council on Climate Change, among several other important assignments.
He has been associated with numerous high-level committees, where his insights played a crucial role in shaping policy and governance. One of his most notable contributions was as Chairman of the Shunglu Committee, constituted to examine alleged irregularities related to the Commonwealth Games held in Delhi in 2010.
A visionary leader whose name is synonymous with reform, Sir continues to play an indispensable role in strengthening the educational foundation of DPS schools across the country.
